Snowflakes

Could you, your business, school or community group sponsor a snowflake for Sheffield Children's? There are lots of locations available across Sheffield and South Yorkshire.

Help us light up Sheffield Children's with twinkling snowflakes

It's never too early to get in touch about your 2024 snowflake. Email us on [email protected] to enquire now.

Since it started in 2004, our award-winning snowflake display has raised over £2.5m for Sheffield Children’s.

In return for pledging to raise funds, each sponsor sees their snowflake sparkle on one of our sites across South Yorkshire, with an attached name tag recognising your contribution for all to see.

The initiative brings people together with a shared goal to change the lives of children and their families, and ensure the team at Sheffield Children’s has exactly what they want, when they need it, to deliver the best possible care for its patients.

The money raised by businesses, schools, community groups, families and individuals supports specialist treatment from head to toe, by funding life-saving equipment, new facilities, a comfortable environment and vital research, which changes paediatric care for thousands of children from across the world.

Snowflakes 2023

Our twinkling snowflakes have raised over £377K for Sheffield Children's Hospital, supporting our £2million fundraising appeal towards the build of the new National Centre for Child Health Technology, a world-class research and technology centre at The Olympic Legacy Park, that will be run by Sheffield Children’s NHS Foundation Trust. On Monday 4th December 2023, we switched them on in front of all our amazing sponsors. Take a look to see how magical it was!

Sponsor a snowflake on our digital Children's Hospital

If you would like to support our appeal this Christmas but haven't been able to sponsor a physical snowflake, why not get a snowflake on our digital website? Donate £30 and see your name up on our digital hospital, spreading some festive cheer! Sponsorship comes with a digital certificate, so could make the perfect gift for someone special. Give back this Christmas with our digital snowflakes!

Collectable snowflake from Wentworth Pewter

We're delighted to once again be teaming up with Wentworth Pewter on a very special collectable pewter snowflake for 2023. The sculptures come in a luxury gift box, kindly created for us by Robinson PLC, making it the perfect Christmas gift, decoration or addition to your snowflake sponsorship.

Snowflake collection tins

If your business, school or community group is unable to sponsor a snowflake at this time, you could still collect towards our snowflake appeal and support Sheffield Children's this Christmas. Get in touch with our team to request a snowflake collection tin - every penny counts!

Testimonials

Kate Rawlings, Responsible Business Manager, Irwin Mitchell

“We’re proud to once again be supporting The Children’s Hospital Charity’s fantastic Snowflake Appeal. Being part of this initiative allows us to give to this very important local charity at a critical time of year, while giving light to the children who find themselves receiving treatment at Christmas.”

    Adam Gillet, Penistone Grammar School

"We are proud every year to support the incredible Sheffield Children’s Hospital as it has supported so many of our students, staff and wider community. We love fundraising for the snowflake, our students get so involved and come up with some amazing ideas - from bike rides to head shaving and everything in-between! Being at the light switch on at the start of December is the highlight of our year - seeing the difference we have made and hopefully making a brighter Christmas for those inside."

Mark Kanaris, Tesco Store Manager, Tesco Infirmary Road

"At Tesco we are extremely proud to support the snowflake appeal. Year upon year we have felt humbled to see the tremendous difference our support makes to the lives of the young patients at the hospital and their families. It brings our City and the wider regions together, creating a real sense of shared purpose and true community spirit. It’s a spectacular moment when we see those amazing snowflakes light up the winter sky for all to see. One of those moments you will share with your children and grandchildren for years to come."
