Staff at the hospital are currently going above and beyond the call of duty to care for and protect some of the most vulnerable members of society. We are starting to feel the true impact of this additional and excessive strain on the wider NHS service. Whilst many are now working from home the staff that keep every service at the hospital running each day are at work, right on the front line of care.

The NHS across the UK is at the forefront of the fight against COVID-19 (coronavirus) and the dedicated teams in all parts of the hospital here at Sheffield Children’s Hospital are doing all that they can to care for those most at risk, including children under two and those with underlying health issues.

Can I ask you today, to join them and go above and beyond for families in our care?

We are very blessed to have so many of you supporting our amazing hospital. Many of you have spent hours training for races or preparing for fundraising events which have now been cancelled or postponed because of COVID-19. We can’t meet together to do what we planned because we need to stop the spread of the virus as quickly as possible.

Whilst some events will be rearranged for later in the year, our charity is already feeling the impact of cancelled events all across the community that supports us – as a result our ability to support the amazing work undertaken by our staff will suffer as a result.

That is why I would like to ask you for your continued support for Sheffield Children’s Hospital. Please would you consider making a one-off donation as a thank you to the Hospital or by signing up to give every month. With your help we can make sure that the hospital is able to continue to provide the best possible care for all who need it.

Thank you so much for your support, however you are able to give it – it means so much to so many people.
