Sheffield Indie Rockers Milburn raise £2000 for The Children’s Hospital Charity
Sheffield Indie Rockers, Milburn, have teamed up with Pedalo Photography to raise £2000 for The Children’s Hospital Charity by selling limited edition signed prints.
Sheffield Indie Rockers, Milburn, have teamed up with Pedalo Photography to raise £2000 for The Children’s Hospital Charity, in support of Sheffield Children’s NHS Foundation Trust.
This summer, Milburn headlined the Rock N Roll Circus in front of a home crowd at Sheffield’s Don Valley Bowl. It was a night to remember, and Rob Nicholson, from Pedalo Photography, was there to capture it all.
After the special night, Pedalo began selling prints of the band for keen fans. Seeing the popularity of the prints, Milburn realised this might be a great opportunity to do something special. The band decided to sell limited edition signed prints, with all proceeds going to The Children’s Hospital Charity.
They initially planned to sell only 10 prints, but, after selling out in just six minutes, they realised they could have an even bigger impact. They sold a total of 40 prints, limiting sales to maintain the exclusivity for fans. Through this Milburn and Pedalo Photography raised an amazing £2000 for Sheffield Children’s.
Lead singer, Joe Carnall, said: “Between the band, we have eight children, and we know that there’s nothing worse than when your child is sick. We’re all Sheffield lads and we know how important the hospital is to the area. It just seemed like the obvious thing to do.”
Sheffield Children’s is one of just three standalone specialist children’s hospitals in the UK, providing the best possible care for children all over Yorkshire, the UK and beyond. The Children’s Hospital Charity helps Sheffield Children’s to change lives every day by funding enhancements over and above the NHS provision.
Fundraising like Milburn’s helps The Children’s Hospital Charity to support specialist treatment from head to toe, funding life-saving equipment, new facilities, a comfortable environment and vital research, which changes paediatric care for thousands of children from across the world.
Joe Carnell and Rob Nicholson visited Sheffield Children’s to present their donation, meeting with the Charity team and posing with the mascot, Theo.
Rob Gurruchaga, Development Officer at the Charity, said: “We are so grateful to Milburn and Pedalo Photography for supporting the Charity. Milburn are so loved in Sheffield, so it’s great to see them support the Trust, which provides such a vital service. The money donated really does make a difference to the lives of patients and families that visit.”
The donation to the Charity was made possible by Milburn fans.
Joe Carnall added: “As ever, we are blown away by the support and generosity of Milburn fans. Thank you.”
