An update from us, we're still here!
Every day during this crisis is bringing new challenges to Sheffield Children’s. Children and young people continue to travel from across the UK to Sheffield for care even during the pandemic. The hospital has doubled its intensive care capacity, as Sheffield Children’s will be carrying out all emergency children’s surgery that would ordinarily have taken place at surrounding hospitals, including Barnsley, Bassetlaw, Chesterfield, Doncaster and Rotherham. This is to help increase bed capacity within adult hospitals.
Following the updated government advice, here at The Children’s Hospital Charity we are adapting how we work to best protect our staff, you our supporters as well as the community at Sheffield Children’s which we continue to serve passionately.
The Charity remains open, working from home. While we won’t be able to meet you in person, our team remains ready to help you in whatever way we can, including over the phone, by email and with video conferencing wherever possible.
We will be on hand to support any fundraising, help you pay in any of your donations online, over the phone or via bacs and will of course help you plan for any future activities. It will take us a little longer than usual to process everything and we thank you for your understanding during this time.
The Charity Hub within Sheffield Children’s Hospital and our Charity HQ at Marlborough House will remain closed for the foreseeable future. If you were planning to visit our office, please e-mail [email protected] instead and we’ll arrange the best way to help you.
The coronavirus outbreak is unprecedented and we understand it may be a very worrying time. Fundraising may not be at the top of your priority list right now, but Sheffield Children’s Hospital remains open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and still needs all our support more than ever. Virtual fundraising is also a great way to bring your community, friends and family together, whilst staying safe. Together we can support each other as we continue supporting our amazing hospital.
Your support will help Sheffield Children’s continue its vital work in paediatric care, giving children the best chance to fulfil their potential.
