What we have been up to

Here are some of the things our COVID-19 Appeal has already funded:

Thanks to everyone who has supported our COVID-19 Appeal during this time from making a one-off donation to taking part in a virtual fundraising event, every penny makes a difference.

Here are a few examples of what the charity has funded from the COVID-19 emergency fund

Play, arts & crafts Play equipment can now only be used by one child. Extra resources have been funded to ensure all children are still able to play and have fun whilst staying in hospital.

Staff wellbeing resources Safe spaces away from the wards which are COVID-19 talk free areas have been created, with charity funded mindfulness activities and refreshments to support our NHS heroes.

10 Spirometers The spirometers help staff monitor patients with serious respiratory conditions from home.

Supermarket vouchers £700 worth of vouchers have been funded for patients and families suffering hardship curing the crisis.

£22,000 Video Laryngoscope This specialist equipment will enable the team on the Intensive Care Unit to quickly establish airways in patients with difficult respiratory conditions and will be used during the coronavirus pandemic and beyond.

1 laptop A patient laptop has been funded for patients with type 1 diabetes to be able to download in a safe clean location their blood glucose using home monitoring devices or blood glucose meters. The laptop helps to manage their diabetes and minimise the face to face contact needed.

Social distancing floor sticker These stickers help reduce the possibility of infection by encouraging staff, patients and visitors to maintain social distancing within the Trust across all of its sites.

10 weighing scales for Cystic Fibrosis Patients Cystic Fibrosis patients are vulnerable and are required shield at home. These scales mean they can be monitored at home rather than attend Outpatients and not all patients can afford to purchase these accurate digital weighing scales particularly in the current situation

£5,000 Nightingale support To help staff during the COVID-19 crisis by providing support for their mental health well-being.

There is still so much more we need to do to support our hospital, staff and families through this time and beyond. How ever you are able to support is hugely appreciated.
