I’m over the moon to be part of such an extraordinary charity. Sheffield Children’s changes lives nationally and internationally, and the Charity’s efforts are vital to the provision of outstanding care. The Charity is ambitious to change more lives, and I'm delighted to help it realise its vision.

Sheffield Children’s Hospital is an iconic institution, know globally for its expertise. My eldest daughter had a serious operation at Sheffield Children’s Hospital when she was five. During this time I was able to see first-hand just how important the hospital is, both for the children who are looked after there and the friends and families of those that they support. Since 1976 The Children’s Hospital Charity has worked tirelessly to help make the hospital what it is today. Their current fundraising project will help the hospital bring together world class facilities with its highly esteemed care and services. This is vital to helping children to get better quickly. Being a trustee gives me an opportunity to give something back to my community and support this extremely important cause.

"The effort put in by members of the public to raise funds for the Charity and the hard work, compassion and commitment shown by staff as they look after the children at Sheffield Children's is exceptional. It is humbling to be part of such a worthwhile cause."

I became a Trustee for the Children’s Hospital Charity because I want to be part of building a better future for children and young people. The charity and Sheffield Children’s have an amazing opportunity to grow our profile and increase fundraising and I’m excited to be a part of that!

I am Chief Executive of Sheffield Children’s NHS FT. I have been with Sheffield Children’s since August 2017 and am responsible for day to day operational delivery of services and development of long term plans and strategy. It’s a brilliant place to work with some truly inspirational colleagues.

"Whilst I have not needed to use the services of Sheffield Children’s Hospital myself, I recognise what an asset it is for our city and the wider region. I’m excited to be part of the growth and development of The Children’s Hospital Charity and for how this will directly impact the services the hospital can offer.”

I graduated from the University of Bath with a degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering before qualifying as a Chartered Accountant with Ernst and Young. My career has taken me through various roles in industry, higher education, and the charity sector. Most recently, I spent 15 years as Chief Executive of St Luke’s Hospice in Sheffield, an independent charity providing specialist palliative and end-of-life care.

Currently, I serve as a non-executive director of Sheffield Children’s NHS Foundation Trust. I am also a trustee of the Sheffield Town Trust, a member of the audit and Risk Assurance Committee at the University of Bath, and a non-executive director of the Gripple & Loadhog employed-owned group of companies based in South Yorkshire.

Previously, I have also served as chair of the institute of Chartered Accountants’ Business Law Committee, and been a member of its Technical Strategy Board and Sustainability Committee.

As a grandparent, I’m passionate about the health and well-being of children and young people, which is a key motivator in my work with The Children’s Hospital Charity.
