Treetop House

Based in The Children's Hospital, Treetop House opened in 2001 and provides accommodation for families of children receiving a wide range of specialist care at the hospital.

About the project

Each year we contribute £20,000 to help the Sick Children's Trust run Treetop House.

The facility has 13 family bedrooms, 7 bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, communal dining area, a well-stocked playroom, shared living room and full laundry facilities. There are direct telephone lines to hospital wards in all bedrooms.

Ann Wyatt, House Manager says:

"We're always 90-100% full and have to keep a waiting list. It depends on the anticipated length of stay, how far they have travelled from and so on.

"We also get a lot of parents who just want someone to talk to. We're not nurses or trained counsellors but we're human beings and we provide a listening service."
